First residents of the Sky Hive

The first Sky Hive prototype was placed in the Sphinxpark Maastricht. The 7 meter long object makes beekeeping possible and visible in public urban areas, with the aim to attract a new generation of beekeepers. New beekeepers are necessary because honeybees have been dying in large numbers the last years, and there are less and less beekeepers.

A group of urban beekeepers started taking care of the first two bee colonies on the pole. If you like to join, contact us at!

Made possible by Marres, Bureau Europa and REcentre. Thank you!
