First residents of the Sky Hive

The first Sky Hive prototype was placed in the Sphinxpark Maastricht. The 7 meter long object makes beekeeping possible and visible in public urban areas, with the aim to attract a new generation of beekeepers. New beekeepers are necessary because honeybees have been dying in large numbers the last years, and there are less and less beekeepers.

A group of urban beekeepers started taking care of the first two bee colonies on the pole. If you like to join, contact us at beecome@beecollective.eu!

Made possible by Marres, Bureau Europa and REcentre. Thank you!
